Rurouni Kenshin TV - Kenshin (50)
Mishimi Eiji has just had his brother and parents killed by Shishio Makoto's thugs. Eiji, in the depths of grief, has grabbed his brother's rusty, chipped katana and is about to attempt to take revenge when Kenshin - the former killer of men - places his hand over Eiji's and tells him to stop.
This cel has special meaning to me. The manga scene on which it is based was the catalyst for my pilot study for the dissertation I never completed. That single panel from volume 9 has so much meaning packed into a few lines that it's hard to describe in anything less than a dissertation. I feel privileged to be the keeper of this cel.
